Structural Reflexology

Our feet make up 2% of our body weight, another way of thinking of this is 2% of our body is carrying 98% of the rest of it. That's a lot of work for our feet and it's no wonder that sometimes things don't work quite like they should. Although walking is the job of our feet, because they're sometimes not stable enough to support the walking action, we can end up using our upper body to compensate. This can then cause other problems throughout the body. Therefore, making sure our feet are working in the way they should can help us feel better throughout our body.

Structural reflexology® integrates foot reflexology with anatomy, physiology, and kinesiology working to release stress and compensation in the entire body. It addresses tension sites on the feet, and benefits can include improving joint articulation, weight bearing and balance, joint tension and can increase strength and vitality in the feet.

It works on the muscles and ligaments in the feet and lower legs to help the joints in our feet articulate in the way they were designed to do.

This  treatment takes a good bit longer than classic reflexology and on the first treatment we measure the feet and look at the walking style, so even if you are a regular in my treatment room, if you book a structural reflexology® session please add in a consultation so that we have enough time to do the additional assessments. The treatment [after the consultation] will be another 105 minutes. As the treatment involves the lower leg you will also need to wear loose fitting trousers that will comfortably go above the knee or bring some shorts.
