Nordic Walking

Nordic walking was originally a summer training regime for cross-country skiers. It's based on using specially designed walking poles in a way that harnesses the power of the upper body to propel you forward as you walk. It's now a recognised way to turn a walk into whole-body exercise that can be done by anybody, anywhere.

Regular Nordic walking can lower your risk of chronic illnesses, such as heart disease, type 2 diabetes, asthma, stroke and some cancers. Nordic walking, like any other form of exercise, can also be used as part of an exercise programme to lose weight.

Nordic Walking Fitness Sessions

Nordic Walking Fitness Sessions are designed to give you an overall body workout that incorporates the various elements of fitness - cardiovascular, strength, flexibility and balance.

The 75 minute fitness sessions start with a gentle warm up to get the body prepared for the session. Following the warm up, we have a Nordic Walk. You are encouraged to walk at the pace that is right for you so that you can gradually build up your cardiovascular fitness in a safe and effective way.

During our walk, we will stop at intervals to do some resistance and flexibility exercises returning to the start point to finish off with some gentle stretches.

If you would like to try the Nordic fitness sessions, please get in touch with Jan directly to discuss whether these classes are suitable for you and arrange a beginner's session. You can text or call Jan on 07717 393805.

Nordic Well-being sessions

Nordic Well-being sessions are designed for people who would like to increase their overall health and well-being but don't feel they are ready for the Nordic Fitness sessions.

These hour long walks will be at a slower pace but are still designed to give you an overall body workout that incorporates the various elements of fitness - cardiovascular, strength, flexibility and balance. The well-being sessions will have more of an emphasis on functional movement, balance and flexibility.

If you would like to try the Nordic well-being sessions, please get in touch with Jan directly to discuss whether these classes are suitable for you and arrange a beginner's session. You can text or call Jan on 07717 393805.

Cancellation Policy

To change or cancel your class, please give at least 12 hours notice to allow Jan to offer the space to someone else.

Although I understand that life doesn't always go as planned, as a self-employed person, this is my income. I therefore reserve the right to charge for any classes cancelled within 12 hours of the class start time. Thank you for your understanding.
