Nordic Walking Sessions

Nordic Taster Sessions will give you an opportunity to try Nordic Walking and see how it feels, then you can decide if it's for you. The Taster Sessions are free of charge. Poles are provided so you just need comfortable soft soled walking shoes (or trainers, if you do't mind them getting muddy) and suitable clothes for the weather.

Nordic Beginner's Courses After trying Nordic Walking at the Taster Session, you can book on to the beginner's course. Each session is one hour long; in the first session we break down the technique so you can walk as effectively as possible. Once you've mastered the technique we can then show you how to progress so you are getting a work out while you are enjoying the beautiful scenery of the Chasewater. After the beginners course, you can join one of our regular Nordic Walks or if you have your own poles, you can head off, happy in the knowledge that you  have a good enough technique to Nordic Walk effectively.

Courses can be booked at a mutually convenient time.

Fast Track Nordic Beginner's Courses

For those who would like to learn to Nordic Walk but struggle to fit in a course over 3 weeks, we offer the opportunity for a fast track course.

The fast track is ideal for those who have relatively good co-ordination and reasonable fitness levels.

The course is for two and a half hours and will take you through all the gears, explaining how to make the best use of the Nordic poles so that you can turn an ordinary walk into a fitness walk.

The fast track course is at a time that is mutually convenient and can be booked midweek or a Saturday afternoon.

Nordic Work-out Walks After completing the beginner's course, you are welcome to join us on a work-out walk. These one hour sessions are a mixture of Nordic Walking and toning exercises using the poles. You can work at your own pace, both the walking and exercises can be adapted to suit you.

Nordic Well-being Walks  After completing the beginner's course, you are welcome to join us on a well-being walk. These sessions are a gentle introduction to Nordic Walking and are suitable for people looking to improve their general health, particularly in the 50+ age group. The sessions are a mixture of gentle Nordic Walking and gentle toning exercises that will increase flexibility, balance and muscular strength. These health improvements will can help with daily living such as walking better, gardening, carrying shopping, playing with the grandchildren, avoiding stiffness and encouraging restful sleep. 

Nordic Social Walks, these walks are up to two hours long and take place at different venues. The social walks are a great opportunity to catch up with people from other classes and have a natter while enjoying the beautiful countryside. Although we do a warm up at the beginning and stretches at the end, this is a Nordic Walk rather than a work out and everyone walks at their own pace.
